Pastor Myra B. Cotton
In 1963, Pastor Myra B. Cotton obeyed the unction from the Holy Ghost to begin a church in her home. July 1964, God's Temple of Deliverance Church was established. Pastor Cotton's leadership has nurtured and instructed many by sharing the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the Word of God. She demonstrated the power, anointing and supernatural miracle ministry of Jesus Christ.
She was a trailblazer, and many signs and wonders followed her ministry; healing, deliverance and many oppressed captives were set free. Thousands of lives changed forever through Pastor Cotton's yielded life to God!
Overseer Cotton set a high standard of holiness for everyone that will accept the call of God for their life. She was a beacon light to all people. Pastor Cotton was a God-fearing pastor that sacrificed everything for the ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord. She was a woman of deep and abiding faith which brought comfort to all who have heard her message of hope, love, and compassion.
She walked in the unconditional love of God. Pastor Cotton's theme scripture found in Isaiah 61:1-2.
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord".
In 2015, God called Pastor Cotton from labor to reward. We thank God for all that He allowed our eyes to see and ears to hear while she was with us.
Bishop Neeley Carter
Bishop Carter was the Bishop of God's Temple of Deliverance for over 25 yrs. He traveled with the outreach ministry and Pastor Cotton. He ministered to many souls throughout this ministry and his own church that was located in Louisiana. He was the Chaplin in one of the prisons in Louisiana for over 20 yrs.
Bishop traveled all over the country preaching the gospel, baptizing, praying for souls, laying hands on the sick and oppressed and watched God heal them.
Bishop always left an encouraging word to God's people and told us to stay with the Lord. One of his favorite songs he enjoyed singing was "God has smiled on me, He has set me free".
